Truth or Consequences

When I was a young boy I can remember watching a TV show called Truth or Consequences. The host would ask questions to panel members and if they were unable to answer the questions then they had to face the consequences of not knowing the truth. Throughout my life, I have recognized that there is always consequences when I have ignored truth. Unfortunately, I thought that if I didn't pay attention to it I would somehow escape the effects of it. Wrong!

Winston Churchhill once said,"men stumble over the truth from time to time, but most pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing happened."

Contrary to popular opinion, truth is an identifiable constant that can be known and experienced in our lives. Truth has immutable characteristics that are not subject to the views of those subjugated to it. Truth is independent of our knowledge and acts as an invisible constant similar to the law of gravity. Truth is discovered and realized not created. Our beliefs do not validate truth but rather are judged by it.

It goes without saying that something that is so important should be pursued. I want to encourage each and everyone of you to make it a point to pursue the most precious commodity in the universe this year: truth!

Jesus said "if you will continue in my words you will be my disciples and you

will know the truth and the truth will make you free!" I pray that truth will be your guide today and you will allow it to lead you in all that you do!
