Two Dollars
Today the majority of the people in the United States are going to work and are going to feel as though you are underpaid and under appreciated. We talk a lot about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. I am not about to insinuate that the arguments are unsubstantiated but I do want to challenge you to understand that in the minds of the majority of the population of the earth that we are a part of what we complain about.
Fifty three percent of the earth's population work for two dollars a day or less. That statistic is incomprehensible for those of us that think that 100 dollars a day is what defines poverty. When I entered the workforce some thirty five years ago, the minimum wage was 3.15 an hour. Compared to most, what I considered poverty was an abundance!
My point is let's learn to be thankful for how blessed we really are. One out of every six people today are malnourished and are going to go to bed hungry. Let's put more effort into helping those who really are in need than complain about what we don't have. May you appreciate your jobs like never before and have a great day!
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thess 5:18
